STAMP 02
The Hunt demonstrates the other core entity involved within the hunting cycle–the hunters. As they move and hide on land and amongst the marshes, they survey the landscape for their intended prey.

STAMP 04
The Outcome shows the ultimate fate that befalls on waterfowl after a successful hunting day. Hunters can be seen holding numerous carcasses on their way to celebrating after their glorious conquest.

CHALLENGE – Design a four-stamp US postal service series that is rooted in and celebrates American history, culture and/or diversity.
SOLUTION – In 1934, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Migratory Bird Hunting Stamp Act which would require waterfowl hunters to purchase and possess a valid duck stamp along with traditional hunting licenses. Proceeds from new duck stamps, issued annually, contribute to wetland conservation for duck populations. The paper silhouette/cut-out approach was chosen over more complex and detailed illustrations to help the viewer more quickly recognize the shapes at such a small size. These stamps showcases the intricate cycle of waterfowl hunting within the United States.
ROLE & TOOLS – Designer | Adobe Illustrator

My illustrative paper cutout approach for my duck stamps was happily recognized as a GRAPHIS New Talent Awards 2025 Silver Winner.
STAMP 01
The Ascent depicts waterfowl flying in the sky, feeling freedom among the clouds. I thought it was fitting to artistically honor them on the first stamp design.

STAMP 03
The Assist highlights the usage of canines as form of waterfowl collection. Dogs are utilized as secondary hunters whose tasks include duck collection and others.
